Gillian Shields writes both picture books and full-length children's fiction, using her experience as a drama teacher for inspiration. She lives a busy life, both writing and teaching, and lives in Sussex with her husband, two children and a little brown dog. She has written a number of picture books for Macmillan, including SAM'S SNOWFLAKE (978 0 230 53178 9), also illustrated by Rosie Reeve.
Rosie Reeve originally trained as a fine artist, but became interested in illustrating children’s books after having her own three children. Rosie has illustrated four existing books for Macmillan, including BELLA GETS HER SKATES ON (978 1 4050 8926 5). Her instinctive understanding of colour brings a real warmth to her work, and her adorable, cuddly characters are full of charm.
